1. Vocabulary: Write review sentences for each word where YOU are the subject
2. College Essay: Mr Goldsmith reads his own "essay" about clothes, and then we began reading sample college essays, rating their effectiveness. This was a class participation grade. We read "Leah Knobler" and "Anorexia" in class. More to come on Friday.
3. STUDY VOCAB for test Friday

HONORS ENGLISH
1. Beowulf: lecture/notes on conventions of a "hero story"....notes begun on section 2 of Beowulf, focusing on a) differences between this fight and the one with Grendel, b) evidence of Beowulf being a supernatural hero, c) water motif, d) arrogance on behalf of Beowulf. There was a paper assigned and is due Friday: "Compare or contrast a modern day hero to Beowulf." You should incorporate our discussion today. The FCAs are 1) intro 2) evidence from the story
2. The random stop-bys continue...............................

ENGLISH 12
1. Vocab: I collected the sentences you did, and the quiz is on Friday.
2. College Essay: Teaching of magic 3, hyphenated modifier, and good leads....you then worked on your own "clothes" essays for a good amount of time, integrating these three revision techniques into your writing....the essays were collected at the end of class
**If you missed class today, your paper SHOULD have been into me today (especially if you were here in the morning, like several of you were). The paper is due to me in class on Friday. There is no "extra day" if you were out of class today. Also, you are to take the vocab test on Friday.
