BLACK DAY

HONORS ENGLISH

1. Monte Cristo

*Study Guide and notes for 55-61. Spend class time answering questions, and then going over questions on reading
*There is a test on Thursday: A comprehensive test covering chapters 42-66 (obviously, then, the reading is through chapter 66 for next class). This test is more than just "reading check."Think about all the discussions and notes we have had
*We didnt get to the character game...but we will do it next time!
*Paper due Monday--please read the assignment carefully:

Within the context of the novel, there is the idea of “rebirth” and “transformation” of character—most notably Dantes’ transformation from “Dantes” to “The Count of Monte Cristo.” Ironically, the Count himself is a character who then transforms other people’s lives—most notably his enemies. However, how is the Count also a catalyst for other people’s lives to change in a good or positive way? The Count has purposely ruined some lives, but he has also made some better. Explore this idea in an essay

I will answer any questions on this prompt next class. I will also tell you the FCAs
