HONORS ENGLISH

-reading check quiz
-notes/go over difficulties of last night's chapters....Bertuccio, Haydee, 'the baby,' etc...
-notes on Aristotle and rhetoric...ethos, pathos, logos....
-read ethos article in class...be sure to finish this for next time
-the reading is through chapter 33....but our next class will focus on this reading (just to answer questions...) AND (more importantly) how Monte Cristo utilizes rhetorical devices to 'reach' his enemies...

-power point presentation on "Christ Imagery" and religious undertones in the story
-pay close attention to the dramatic irony and foil that exists in chapter 16

Characters in conflict often 'drive' the success and mood of a story. MAN VS MAN conflict is easy to see..but how do two stories we have read thus far share either a man vs nature or a man vs self conflict as a MAJOR part of the story? Compare these two stories and conflicts, and explain to the best of your ability how they work within the writing

-we began the story together, but I want you to finish the story and take notes on how we know we are dealing with a crazy and unreliable narrator
